Meals
Here at Turtles Day Nursery we encourage and promote healthy eating.
If your child is joining us for breakfast, lunch or tea please provide them with an age and stage appropriate well balanced meal.
Meals should be age and stage appropriate as this also helps with speech and language not only nutritional value.
Refreshments are provided throughout the day by Turtles, we offer milk, water (cooled, boiled water for under 1’s)
Breakfast: 8am – 9am
We offer inclusive healthy breakfasts such as healthy cereals, fruit, toast and crumpets
Morning Snack: 10am
Healthy Snacks such as fruit, cereals, vegetables, cheese, breads and biscuits and drinks including milk and water are provided by Turtles Day Nursery.
Lunch: 12pm – ends depending on children
Please provide a healthy lunch in a named lunch bag. It is also useful if you could label the food wrappers to avoid any confusion once the food is taken out of the lunch bag.
Afternoon Snack: 2pm
Healthy Snacks such as fruit, cereals, vegetables, cheese, breads and biscuits and drinks including milk & water are provided by Turtles Day Nursery.
Tea: 4pm – ends depending on children
Please provide a healthy tea in a named lunch bag. If your child is having tea at home and is here during our Tea Time, please provide them a small snack.
Useful information …
- All food will be stored in our fridge if required
- All food which needs to be re-heated will be done so using our microwave – food temperatures will be tested using a probe
- All microwave ready meals will be heated using the printed guidelines
- Please do not send in meals which ‘may contain bones’ as we are unable to check this
- Baby bottles will NOT be heated/reheated in a microwave
- No sweets or chewing gum should be given
- Turtles is a NUT FREE ZONE – please do not send in any nuts
- Meals should take no longer than 5 minutes to prepare
